Do You Have a Team for Your Self-Care?

I remember one morning vividly. I woke up with tight shoulders, a dull ache in my back, and a heaviness in my chest. I sat on the edge of my bed, wondering if I’d ever feel “normal” again. My mind was racing, my emotions frayed, and my body was quietly screaming for attention I hadn’t given it.
Over the past ten years of my self-healing journey, I’ve learned that healing isn’t linear. Just when you think you’ve conquered one wave, another hits—sometimes gently, sometimes like a storm.
My counselor once told me, “Healing is like peeling an onion. Every layer you peel and process reveals another. Some layers are thick and heavy, tough to remove; others are light and nearly invisible, almost easy to miss—but every layer matters.” That analogy has stayed with me.
That day, I realized I had been neglecting my physical self. I had skipped chiropractor visits, massages, and reflexology appointments. Once I rebooked them, my body felt lighter, my mind calmer. But even then, something still whispered from within. My soul nudged me gently, “Don’t forget about me.”
That’s when it clicked: true self-care isn’t one-dimensional. It’s not just mind, or body, or spirit—it’s all three. I realized I needed my own self-care healing team, a thoughtful combination of practices and support to nurture every part of myself.
It took time to figure out what I needed in each realm, but once I did, my healing became more balanced, intentional, and transformative.
So I ask you: when you think about your self-care, who is on your team? Are you tending to your body, mind, and soul—or just one piece of yourself?
If you need guidance in assessing or building your own self-care team, I offer Intuitive Wellness Guidance Sessions. Sometimes, a second perspective is all it takes to bring clarity.
